Ben Kim is a Ph.D. student in Public Health and Health Systems in the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies and Gerontology from the same department in 2011. He received his M.HI from the University of Toronto.
Previous to joining the HDSL, he had worked in the home and community health care field in Ontario as a health informatician, overseeing IT/HI projects including customer relationship management implementation, smartphone based electronic health record implementation, and business process improvement initiatives.
Ben’s current research interests surround mobile health interventions, consumer health informatics, human computer interaction, and user interface and usability evaluation. His future research will explore and examining potential and better uses of smartphones in self-managing chronic diseases.
